This award-winning exhibit, a partnership project of the Lake of the Woods Museum, the Ne-Chee Friendship Centre and the Lake of the Woods Ojibway Cultural Centre originally opened at the Lake of the Woods Museum in Kenora, Ontario in 2008 and is on display again at the Peterborough Museum & Archives until Sunday, December 8, 2019. The exhibit will allow visitors to learn about the Indian residential school system with a particular focus on the two schools located in Kenora – Cecilia Jeffrey and St. Mary’s. Powerful images, text, video, archival material, personal recollections and special programming combine to tell this story.
