Sounds of Tomorrow: A Benefit Concert Supporting Youth Music Education
Peterborough, ON — The Peterborough Concert Band is proud to present Sounds of Tomorrow, a benefit concert in support of Kawartha Youth Orchestra’s Upbeat!, a free after-school music program dedicated to empowering local youth through the power of music. The concert will take place on Sunday, October 26 at 2:30 PM at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre, downtown Peterborough.
Joining the stage for this inspiring afternoon of music will be the Kawartha Youth Orchestra (KYO), showcasing the next generation of talented young musicians. The program features a rich blend of classical and contemporary works, including Duke Ellington in Concert, Palladio, and The Great Lakes. The Senior KYO will open the event with a special performance of The Tempest, setting the tone for an afternoon celebrating community, collaboration, and the future of music in Peterborough. A joint performance of Eagles Among Us by the combined Kawartha Youth Orchestra and Peterborough Concert Band will also be part of the wonderful afternoon of music!
All proceeds from the concert will directly support Upbeat!, helping to provide free access to music education and instruments for youth in need.
